The Tod Family plot in Oakhill Cemetery Youngstown, Ohio

Text of Governor David Tod's statement to the people of the state of Ohio following the surrender of Confederate raider, John Hunt Morgan.

Edwin Stanton congratulated Governor Tod with this telegram sent June 9, 1863:

"I have just read with great pleasure your manly and patriotic message you deserve not only the honor and respect of your great state but also of every loyal and patriotic heart."
